Hello … a while ago I caught the craze for the low quality that had some of my MP3 and erased almost all the music that was (were more than 600GB) leaving alive only in CBR MP3 @ 320Kbps. Right now I’m in the process of “re-download” and “re-ripping” … and I’m limited to MP3 and FLAC 320Kbps CBR @ ^ ^.

Anyway … My previous collection had it level with the MP3Gain, a simple little program that I liked because it took only peak volume, but also other factors, achieving a very good leveling. And the main thing: do not miss it! So sometimes I leveled something and then re-fit a few dB below or above to get everything evenly with the rest of my music.
The problem arises with FLAC me as the MP3Gain not support them. Are there any programs out there like MP3Gain but for FLAC? Entered my head to spend all MP3 CBR @ 320Kbps (still good), but it would be half as sacrilege and I want to stay with the guilty conscience

Therefore, an MP3 file is limited with regard to the method of compression and can only store audio.  MP4 on the other hand, can store video as well as audio.  It can even store subtitles for a video file.  Also, since MP4 is a container, it can store audio and video that have been compressed in different fashions.  In fact, an MP4 file could be audio that has been compressed as an MP3.

These differences make it so that a program that plays an MP3 cannot necessarily play an MP4 and vice versa.  The same goes for portable music players, though there are plenty of software options and portable players out there that can play both, for example Winamp.
